Dr. Alexandra Pudzemis
Clinical Psychologist
In my therapeutic practice, I strive to foster a warm and supportive environment that emphasizes achieving the unique goals of both the family and the child. My approach is customized to consider the child's cultural background and individual needs.
When working with children, I employ a play-based approach to establish rapport, resolve conflicts, enhance social skills, and explore emotions. In our sessions, I focus on recognizing the child's strengths and helping them use those strengths to tackle the challenges they face. Family involvement is also a priority, as I collaborate closely with parents to ensure comprehensive care.
With over a decade of experience, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing a wide range of challenges in various outpatient and school-based settings across the United States. My specialties include developmental disabilities, attention and learning difficulties, trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, and social-emotional issues. Additionally, I have clinical interests in parent-child relationships, parenting skills, parental mental health, and the application of social and mindfulness-based techniques.
Roald Dahl, a beloved author for both children and adults, once wrote, "Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world." I truly believe that therapy offers individuals the chance to transform their lives, uncover deeper meanings, heal from past wounds, connect with their inner selves, and build meaningful relationships with others.
